Molly Franklin is a Chicago-based writer, screenwriter, and performer. In 2020, her first narrative short film, Heirloom, (found here) Heirloom | Short Narrative Film – Talus Films)  was produced and premiered at the Talus Films “12×12 Showcase” where it won Fan Favorite and has since been selected and shown at the Lake Michigan Film Festival and the Joedance Film Festival.

Since beginning her screenwriting journey, six of her screenplays, including one feature film, have been recognized a total of seventeen times in various competitions world-wide. In 2021, she was recognized as one of the top femme screenwriters to work with in Chicago by Camera Ambassador.

Currently, she is in pre-production for her short film, With Ample Depth and Powerful Tannins, and is in the process of writing her first speculative fiction short story collection, entitled The Copper Continuum.

She has previously performed with Tenx9 and is excited to return to the stage after four years with Loose Chicks, sharing her personal essay, “Lightning Bugs and Other Things That Make You Crazy.”
